What is Solas?
July 1st 2016 sees the implementation of amendments to Chapter VI of the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) that will require all export containers to have a verified weight prior to being loaded on board a ship.
In New Zealand, Maritime NZ intends to implement the amendments via an update to Maritime Rule 24b.
