MBD is a well-established, privately owned and operated, successful civil construction company with our main office located in Greymouth.

We provide a wide range of services including major earthworks, sea foreshore and river protection, civil construction, road maintenance and construction, subdivisions, retaining walls and driveway and section dig outs. We are also Kiwi Rail’s preferred supplier of specialist Hi-rail plant and civil equipment on the West Coast with a wide range of specialist Hi-rail plant and equipment used to assist Kiwi Rail with their daily maintenance.
This sees us completing many projects on the West Coast as well as throughout the greater South Island.

MBD are specialists when it comes to coastal and river protection rock work. With a fleet of Hitachi excavators, on road and off road dump trucks they are well equipped to extract, cart and place large protection rock.

A large project to repair sea storm damage at Punakaiki on the West Coast, half the highway was washed away, here you see the large footing that was made and then with a geo mat and armour rock wall extending well out into the sea. The granite rock is carted from Inchbonnie, a 3 .5 hr round trip!
